MAIN PoV: The following POV was selected over the others because we have more data to back up our claims and collaborate with our solutions.

 

Point of View statement: Students in classes are eager to leave due to being bored.

Point of View Questions:

1. How can classes be more interesting and engaging?
2. Should class lengths be shortened to eliminate the urge to leave?
3. Should curriculum be adjusted to different students? Should students be allowed to pick their own classes?  

Support:

• Question 5 on our survey shows that a total of 71 students are bored and eager to leave classrooms.
• Only 1 person is happy in class.
• If students were allowed to pick their classes they would be more happy because they can sign up with friends. 47% of students who took the survey said friends made the classroom experience better.

 

Alternative PoV 2: Ms. James notice a lot of students with heads down in her class while she’s teaching, she wants to know how can she engage her students.

Point of View Questions:

1. How might can she make the classroom or lesson she’s teaching more interesting or hands on. .
2. Should she allow more freedom in her classroom and give breaks?
3. How might she incorporate the students input and interest on activities in the class?

 

Support:

• Question 7 on our survey give input on what the students need to make being in class better.
• Question 6 on our survey will help Ms.James evaluate if she expects too much of her students.
• Review our survey to get more student inputs so she can be inclusive of all of her students not be biased.

 

Alternative PoV 3: Zachary is a student that struggles a lot with understanding the lesson material and doesn’t get much support from his teachers or peers.

Point of View Questions:

1.) How might we help Zachary get the support that he needs from his peers and teachers?

2.) How might we help Zachary find a way to understand the lesson material?

3.) How might we make the material easier to understand?

Support:

1.) Zachary said that the teachers give too much work, they are irritating and are not very helpful and aren’t very understanding.

2.) One of the questions in the survey asks which option affects the way you feel most in a classroom and majority of the people said their friends.

3.) One of the question in the survey asks how many classes do you feel overwhelmed in and majority of the people said 4 classes.
